Today our school went to a rest home to perform cultural dances there were 6 performances. I was the Maori boys haka. There was also a Tongan item from the girls and the boys, as well as a Samoan Sasa and a Cook Island dance from Maara and Aaliyahnah from my class.
We went to Grace Joel on a bus. When we got there we had to walk to the reception area. Our group were the first to perform. The girls started us off with a waiata and then we did the Haka.
After our performances we were given chocolates as treats. There was so much chocolate it was great.
I enjoyed performing alongside the Kapahaka group. I also enjoyed being at the rest home because it was a beautiful place.
