Grace joel performance

Today our school went to a rest home to perform cultural dances there were 6 performances. I was the Maori boys haka. There was also a Tongan item from the girls and the boys, as well as a Samoan Sasa and a Cook Island dance from Maara and Aaliyahnah from my class.

We went to Grace Joel on a bus. When we got there we had to walk to the reception area. Our group were the first to perform. The girls started us off with a waiata and then we did the Haka.

After our performances we were given chocolates as treats. There was so much chocolate it was great.

I enjoyed performing alongside the Kapahaka group. I also enjoyed being at the rest home because it was a beautiful place.

Our time at Glenbrae kids

On Tuesday the 28th of march our class went to Glenbrae Kids.At Glenbrae Kids we sang a song. Our song was Toro mai. After that we had to pick one of the kids and look after them. My buddy's name was Benjamin.

Benjamin had an option to go outside and play on the park or play with the play dough. Benjamin wanted to first play with the toys, then he wanted to go outside and play. We played with the bikes then came back inside to look at the pictures.

I was happy to spend time with the little children. It reminded me of being that age and having a lot of fun playing in the playground. I hope we will go there again soon.
